What Is a Perpetual Calendar?

A perpetual calendar (萬年曆) is not limited to a single year; it calculates and shows the day of the week and dates for any year and month. By applying the Gregorian leap-year rules (a year divisible by 4 is a leap year, divisible by 100 is not, but divisible by 400 is again), it produces the correct day of the week for any month. It is useful for finding the day of the week of a past birthday, or checking the day of a future event in advance.

This perpetual calendar starts the week on Sunday. Sundays are highlighted in red and Saturdays in blue, and today's date is shown with a border.

What year range is supported?
